About Houndlink

Houndlink operates a directory of local home service companies and a quote request form. We are not a contractor and do not perform or guarantee any work.

Ratings and listings

Ratings and review counts come from Google and are refreshed periodically. Listings may be incomplete or out of date. We do not confirm licenses, insurance or qualifications. You are responsible for checking a company before hiring.

Featured listings

Featured listings are paid placements and are labeled. Featured plans renew monthly or for 12 months as described on the Get Featured page, can be cancelled so they do not renew, and do not guarantee leads or jobs. Every listing appears in up to three towns, including the company's home town. A Featured member may add more towns for an additional monthly fee that is added to the membership and billed on the same schedule. If the membership ends or extra towns are removed, the listing returns to its included three towns.

Leads for businesses

A homeowner can ask one claimed company for a quote directly from its listing, or send a general request for a trade in their town. A general request goes to one Featured company in that trade and town, taken in turns, or, if there is none, is offered to the claimed companies in that trade, and the first to accept it receives it. Unclaimed listings cannot receive requests. Featured companies are not charged for leads. A claimed company receives one free lead each calendar month. After that, a lead costs a flat number of credits, taken from the company's prepaid balance when it unlocks the homeowner's contact details, whether or not it wins the job. Credits cost $1 each and are bought in packs of 50, optionally with automatic recharge when the balance runs low; the company's card is charged for the pack, not for each lead. Free credits we grant are spent first. Credits do not expire and purchased credits are not refundable except as stated here or required by law. A company that tries to unlock a general request after another company has taken it is not charged. A paid lead with a fake or unreachable contact, or outside the company's stated area, may be reported within 48 hours for review; if approved, the credits are returned to the company's balance. Leads do not guarantee a job.

Quote requests

When you submit a request, you agree we may share your name, phone number and job details with the company you chose so they can contact you by phone or text. Your request goes only to that company. Message and data rates may apply.

Limitation of liability

The directory is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for work performed by listed companies or for losses from using the site.
